Hi! I am Evelyn Van Til and I am a dynamic speaker, blogger, and coach specializing in Gen Y career and workplace issues. I serve students and young professionals by helping you answer the question of what you are going to be when you grow up. Here is my story:
Life can be very overwhelming. Making choices about what to major in? Struggling with how to translate what you love into a meaningful career? or already employed, but feeling unfulfilled in life? No matter where you are along the college to career continuum, you might find yourself wanting to kick it up a notch. So, if you want to move from functional to optimal or have a space to make meaningful plans with accountability, I have several ways to serve you:
I am a contributor at My Classroom RULES! where I write career advice articles, provide tools, workshop ideas, and support for teachers. I frequently contribute to discussions online, as well as write this fun and engaging blog.
I’m also a professional speaker delivering keynote speeches and workshop presentations at universities, conferences and corporations around the country. Check me out at Speaker’s Site, Linked IN, Facebook, Twitter, and My Space!
Prior to starting Lyrical Purpose, I’ve spent ten years at The Ohio State University as an Academic and Career Coach, empowering that challenging leap from college to career. In this capacity, I work with students, young professionals, parents, faculty, deans, and other members of leadership at The Ohio State University to change the energy in education. During this time, I connected with people from Engineering, Business, Nursing, Medical Professions, and all of the Arts and Science with special attention to Music, Art, and Design. I bring this vast expertise to work for you.
I graduated from Illinois State University in 1995 with a Bachelors’ in English and in Classical Studies. After taking a year off for reflection, research, and growth I began my studies at The Ohio State University in 1996 and completed my Master’s in English in 1998. My specialization was Folklore with a real focus on Cultural Studies.
I have always loved stories. It is still my driving purpose: only now, I am interested in how we each consciously compose the stories that drive our careers and lives.
And so, in 2008 I became a Certified Empowerment Coach at the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. My specialization is Career & Life Purpose Coaching with training in Executive/Business Coaching, Human Performance Technology, Change Management, and Leadership Development.
I look forward to connecting and exploring where your story might yet go!
